Amy
Cartledge is in her third year as the Associate Band Director at Heritage High
School in Conyers, Georgia. Her duties include instructing the Concert and
Symphonic Bands, assisting with the Marching Band and Jazz Band, and teaching
Music History.
Mrs. Cartledge formerly taught at Conyers Middle School where she
directed the 6th Grade Beginning Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band,
and Jazz Band. Her bands have received superior ratings at GMEA district
concert festivals, and also received superior ratings at the High Note
Festival.
Prior to teaching at Conyers Middle School, she was band director
at Jasper Middle School in Jasper, GA. Her band participated in the “Your
Instrumental” clinic at Walt Disney World. Although this is Ms. Cartledge’s
first year as the Associate Band Director at Heritage, she is a Heritage
graduate and has worked on staff from 2002-2007 .She has also worked on staff
with the Rockdale County High School Marching Band from 2007-2008 and the Bravo
Music Camp at Berry College in 2008.
Mrs. Cartledge graduated cum laude from Berry College with a
Bachelor of Music Education Degree. She was a member and president of Sigma
Alpha Iota and CMENC and performed in several performing ensembles including,
Symphonic Band, Trumpet ensemble, Brass Choir, Jazz Band, and Concert Choir.
Mrs. Cartledge’s professional affiliations include GMEA, MENC,
and Sigma Alpha Iota.
Mrs. Cartledge lives in Covington with her husband Jonathan and
daughter Ali.
